2008 Motorcycle Work Stand Build Session

We are planning a build session for the Motorcycle Work Bench Saturday May 10 8:30AM. This work bench is 17" tall by 7' long with a ramp that is stored internally. When the bench is in operation and opened up, the work surface is 36"x 48". In the stored configuration the bench is 10" wide by 17" high by 84" long. It makes a nice little table on the side of the garage.

The material list for each bench is:
  • 2.5 sheets of ¾ plywood ($30ea)
  • 14 1.5 x 1.5 hinges
  • 3 lbs drywall screws
  • 1 8 oz glue
  • 1 primer
Participant tools
  • Fully charged drill for driving screws
  • Small jigsaw (optional)
I would pick up the plywood and other materials before hand and have them available for the session. The night before I would prime the whole sheets of plywood and might need some help with that.

With all the saw dust that is created this is an outside project so this is a weather dependent operation for the cutting operation.

I estimate that this is a 4-5 hour job depending on the participant skill level and the length of the lunch break.
